Added Sizes for Hammond Eclipse Family Further Support IoT and Industry 4.0

February 3, 2017

As embedded intelligence in plant and machine in industrial applications spreads rapidly, so is the demand for physically and environmentally secure enclosures of all sizes. Hammond Manufacturing’s Eclipse family offers a wealth of features in harsh industrial environments to meet the burgeoning needs and size variability of IoT and Industry 4.0 installations.

Ranging in size from a compact 12 x 10 x 6 inches up to a massive 72 x 30 x 24 inches, the Eclipse painted mild steel family of wall mount enclosures from Hammond Manufacturing has been extended to offer 100+ different size options, offered in ANSI61 Gray and RAL7035 colours.

The stylish and functional Eclipse range complies with NEMA 3R, 4 and 12 and IEC60529 IP66, and features many standard options. Closures are either a quarter-turn, tool operated slot or a key-lockable handle, both preventing unauthorized access. A rigid formed structure, manufactured from either 14 or 16 gauge steel, with smooth continuous seams, has hidden hinges and a high quality recoatable powdered paint finish that enhances the contemporary design.

The door seal is a seamless poured-in-place gasket, and for additional protection against the ingress of flowing liquids, a formed lip further reduces the possibility of liquids entering the housing. Doors are easily removable and larger sizes feature additional internal stiffeners that also act as additional mounting positions.

A large selection of standard accessories is available. Optional removable internal panels are available in painted steel or zinc plated for all enclosure sizes. To prevent condensation, heaters and thermostats can be fitted; breathers equalize pressure differentials, filter fans can provide additional cooling, and DIN rails are a field-proven mounting method for modular equipment.

The Eclipse family is also offered with pre-installed window door version or alternative stainless steel construction.
